The Economics Society of Northern Alberta is a non-profit organization without any political allegiance whatsoever. The Society is supported solely by membership and event fees and by individual donations.

History

More than 30 years ago, a group of individuals working in academic or public and private sector areas related to economics began meeting to hear speakers and exchange ideas. They collected themselves under the title of the Economics Society of Edmonton. In 1965, they banned together with a similar group, which had developed in Calgary and together, they incorporated the Economics Society of Alberta.
